Use of a slipstreamed update rollup during a service pack installation is not
supported. Your results may be indeterminate.

That is: don't do it.

Since the service pack is a full install, you can put the rollup 3 MSP in the
Updates folder of the SP3 installer and do it all in one pass.

Subject: [Exchange] Applying Service Pack 3 to Exchange 2010

I just want to check to see if I'm correct before applying the latest Service
pack and rollups to our Exchange environment. We have 2 CAS/HUBs and 2 DAGS in
an active passive failover setup. All the servers are currently running
Exchange 2010 Service Pack 2 rollup 2. I want to bring everything up to the
latest.

So, I assume I start with the CAS/HUB and apply SP3 and then rollup 3 one
server at a time. Then do the update the passive dag server, failover and
update the other DAG.

Mainly what I'm looking to find out is if I can go directly from "Service Pack
2 Rollup 2" to "Service pack 3" and then just apply "SP3 Rollup 3".

Any known issues with SP3 Rollup 3 or gotchas you can think of would greatly
appreciated as well.

Thanks so much,
Andy Leedy
