Getting in late here but my experience is having cached mode creates a better
(generally) user experience if they're a heavy email user and/or you have
limited bandwidth. As Damien said, the best and easiest fix is to just delete
the OST and let it rebuild if there are any problems. PST's are the devil and
we only employ them if we need to export something for discovery purposes.

Subject: [Exchange] OST files

MS PSS is recommending to me to set cached mode on my users and utilize OST
files?
I thought I had heard PST and OST files are bad, very bad.
Would like to be educated on the Pros and Cons of turning Cached Mode on. It
is currently off via Group Policy.
