Well, one way could be an admission by someone on a public listserv with their real-world work signature underneath it, hence my unsolicited warning [wink].
But other than that, it is always been big mystery. Take that article I send for example, in it the Microsoft employee says "I won't tell you how we know when someone has used a brain dump to pass an exam, but we know. While we work hard to prevent brain dumps from obtaining our material in the first place, and then removing it when it appears, we also put the responsibility on test-takers to act responsibly and with integrity." Over the years instructors have struck fear into the the hearts of students by saying that exam questions are often written in a way where someone's answers identify people that are using *known* braindump sites. Whether this is true is anyone's guess. But one thing is for certain, the more people that use brain dumps, the more get certified, and the harder the questions get. It's a self-generating problem as I see it. Because as the questions get harder and more obscure, the more likely people are to use dumps.
