The same thing happens if I substitute the distrolist for "f60..".
But, get-distributiongroup brings the group right up.
Just a little .... quirky.
[PS] C:\Windows\system32>get-user f60ac98e-613a-4c10-ae99-7b917a274e58

The operation couldn't be performed because object

Yes, that is interesting. And what happens when you try the command?

So this is interesting....
I'm seeing eventID 6 MSexchange cmdletlogs (thanks for pointing me in that
direction!):
Cmdlet failed. Cmdlet Get-User, parameters {ResultSize=unlimited,
Identity=f60ac98e-613a-4c10-ae99-7b917a274e58}.

No; no option to view the powershell... just the OU loading....
He is able to add contacts via the contacts 'memberof' tab, and that works like
a charm.
Really strange.
Thank you!

Well, that isn’t the CU6 problem.
Do you have an option for this particular window of looking at the generated
PowerShell? Does it look normal?

Not at all - only when he tries adding /removing through the EMC.

No; Outlook is pretty speedy.

Thanks Michael - the DCs shown are all local.
I was hoping that was it!

This sounds very similar to an Exchange 2013 problem that was just corrected in
CU6, where Exchange would choose DCs in remote AD sites under certain
circumstances.
Does your Application event 2080 look correct? Are the DCs shown in
"*** Servers Servers Servers ***"
$r = Get-ExchangeServer -Status
$r | fl Name, Site, ServerRole, AdminDisplayVersion, Static*,
Current*
The proper ones?

Subject: [Exchange] Fwd: Exchange 2010 distro list
Hi everyone;
Exchange 2010, SP3, fully patched. The help desk just brought this to my
attention, and I have done some testing.
Using the EMC, trying to add/remove members from the distribution list
"members" tab.
If the distro list contains contacts, the members can take 5 or more minutes to
load the OUs - nothing can be done until they are finished loading.
If the distro list only contains mailboxes, the tab loads almost immediately.
It doesn't matter what OU the contacts are in; whether they're brand new or
established.
There is nothing in the event viewers; and I can't find anything on the
interwebs.
Any ideas what else to check?
Thanks!
Candee
