Rich,

In exch admin go to user mailbox select clean mailbox, under custom message
type enter OOFRULES (be aware that this will delete all rules for this
user), works 95% of the time. Renter OOO and it should work.

Cheers

Paul

Standards are like toothbrushes,
everybody agrees you should have one,
but no one wants to use yours

Subject: automated office Message not working

exchange 5.5 sp3, nt4 sp6a, using outlook 2000.
this is happening on multiple servers.
For some users, the out of office feature does not work. They will put it
on, close outlook, open outlook, get the message that OutOfOffice is on,
but will not send an e-mail back to the sender with the message.
Deleteing the user and then recreateing them will solve the problem but I
do not want to do this for everyone. Also, (hopefully related), when
other users use the "do not deliver before" option to send mail, it will
not be sent. the Event Service is not started because it interfers with
RightFax. ISINTEG -FIX and ESEUTIL /D was done and really did not fix the
problem.

am I overlooking something

Rich
