Hi,

I am running all of my servers on Win2KSP2.

I have set up a second Domain Controller (on a different subnet) to
provide redundancy for my Primary DC, but especially to keep Ex2KSP1
operable. I have also marked this DC to be a Catalog Server.

However, when I disconnect my original DC from the network, & then attempt
to open Outlook on a client, access to the Outlook mailbox is unavailable.
Exchange logs the following error;

"Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: NSPI Proxy
Event ID: 9057
Date: 22/11/2001
Time: 8:52:48 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SNAP
Description:
NSPI Proxy cannot contact any Global Catalog that supports the NSPI
Service. New clients will be refused until a Global Catalog is
available. After a Domain Controller is promoted to a Global Catalog, it
must be rebooted to support MAPI Clients. "

I have rebooted the DC several times.

Can someone advise me what I am doing wrongly & how I can enable the
'backup' DC to fufill Ex2K's requirements so that clients can use Outlook?

John
