Thanks Glen...Good point but can Diskeeper do a good job to try to defrag an " on line " exchange server ?
Not all ex server have their database on a stand alone partition or disk. Sometime this list is like MS exam, we're supposed everyone are dealing with 10 servers, 2000 users etc ;-) A lot of my ex customer often end up with files on the same partition as the edb files.. .And my few SBS 2000 customer are worse. Then I was really wondering if Diskeeper can do a good job when defragmenting an online Ex 2000 server (external fragmentation of the database....The file itself split everywhere on the partition ) JF ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn Corbett" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, April 22, 2002 8:48 PM Subject: Re: Diskeeper and Exchange the final word ? > Daniel, > > Correct as always, however. > > You can shut down the exchange services (which obviously affects Exchange > availability) and perform a Diskeeper defrag on the volumes if the exchange > databases are shared with other files.
