I second this Had the same problem with a HP server 3 - 18GB in raid 5 one went down..dead gone... In Critical mode..then the second went. dead
I got really lucky, in that on the mylex raid card this thing had.. I could try and force the second back online... It worked but taught me to always have an online spare. Me if I only had five bay's for this and only five. Im no exch guru like all these guy's... But Id go for the whole thing on the raid 5 with an online spare. Heck I'd even put a tape drive directly in the box. Actually thats what I do 4 drive bay's (CPQ ML350). 18GB 10K drives, 3 raid, 1 online spare.
