Try disabling your antivirus software for a minute and see if that cures the
problem. With Norton Antivirus, if you use the AVAPI mode you must enable
"background scanning" to that all attachments are pre-scanned (when new
definitions arrive) to prevent this type of problem.

Subject: Can't move multiple message within Outlook??

Exchange 5.5 SP4
Lately multiple Outlook 2000 clients have called that they are not able to
move multiple messages within their mailboxes or to public folders. I have
confirmed that it is indeed a problem. It seems that any message with an
attachment, big or small, can only be moved one at a time. Trying to move
two or more messages with attachments fails. Messages without attachments do
not seem to be having a problem. Furthermore, when I tried to move messges
by archiving the folder, archiving failed with a message that said it was
unable to move them. I used to be able to grap every message in a folder
and move it without a problem.

1. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you have a solution? 2. Could it
be that my the virus software is trying to scan these messages with
attachments and is causing the failure? I am using Groupshield for
Exchange. I have been using this for several years, and this problem never
before existed. I am going to follow up with them as well. 3. Could any of
the latest MS security patches be causing this type of problem? Any help is
appreciated Thank You, Valerie
