Here's where I am at so far (my $245 is getting me no where) - on the recovery server install of Exchange I can back up and restore this instance just fine using ntbackup - if I pop in the tape from the production server I can restore the directory just fine but the info store goes no where (sits at 0 bytes and 100% cpu for up to 15 hours that I have tested so far) - Tried this on tapes from 7/3, 7/4 and 7/5 all with identical results - Tried a tape from 6/14 and it stops at 8 bytes and does same thing
I have been renaming and recreating the mdbdata folders before each attempt Any other ideas? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ed Crowley" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, July 11, 2002 10:32 AM Subject: RE: Recovery Server > If you're doing an Exchange-aware restore, i.e., restoring the > Information Store as opposed to files, then the drive letter arrangement > need NOT match the server from which the backup was taken. > > Ed Crowley MCSE+Internet MVP kcCC+I > Tech Consultant > hp Services > Protecting the world from PSTs and Bricked Backups! > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Chris H > Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 9:49 AM > To: Exchange Discussions > Subject: Recovery Server > > > I have built a recovery server to restore an information store to from > Online backups.
