It's free, but shipping and handling comes to about $30,000. You have to sign up for X hours of consulting to get the product.
What you end up with is a proprietary database (that's going to be retired soon) and a proprietary scripting engine. You have to write your own scripts to sync to other directories. We tried it, but in the end, it ended up being to cumbersome and too slow to be usable, so it was abandoned. Take my advice: learn Perl and the Net::LDAP utility. You can easily create contacts for your non-exchange users. Heck, if you use Net::LDAP, you can even run your scripts on a Unix/Linux box. -----Original Message----- From: Julian Stone [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, September 20, 2002 2:25 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Tools for Maintaining Active Directory It's a free product, but you must be trained in it's use, otherwise you can cause havoc or even worse... That's what I read on the MMS website. -----Original Message----- From: Bendall, Paul [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, September 20, 2002 11:44 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Tools for Maintaining Active Directory What about Microsoft Meta Services (MMS) if the other systems have a LDAP directory store. We want them to be included in the GAL. What programs or products are other people using to maintain the Active Directory in an automated fashion for maintaining custom recipients? _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have received this e-mail in error or wish to read our e-mail disclaimer statement and monitoring policy, please refer to http://www.drkw.com/disc/email/ or contact the sender. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
