Oh, and Chris is right. It is not connected at all to offline synchronization unless the user deletes everything while offline, but that would still be a user action.

The user, when logging on, gets a message about creating an OST or a PST file. They usually click 'OK' or 'Yes' After that, the user gets their email dumped locally on the host they are logged onto.
