I have a small Barracuda Message Archiver (350) that just sits there and reliably does its thing. Total volume is usually around 2500 messages per day. The only con (and I guess it's not really a con) is that you can't delete specific items. As I understand it, you can only remove things with retention rules. One user had several thousand identical calendar items for an event to take place on 7/22/2020 when the initial ingestion of existing messages was done. The first 75 pages of the non-filtered messages list are duplicates of that one item. Annoying, but not the end of the world.
