Actually emptying the trash every day doesn't sound like a bad idea at all
IMHO. Just need to explain to the users that it will allow for "oops, hit the
wrong key" but is not intended to be just another folder to keep forever.

zero day retention?

Not my call. This came from the corner office and has been in place in all
previous versions.
I know it won't take the zero value in the GUI. Haven't looked for the
equivalent in Powershell, but have a feeling it will bomb there too.

Do you really hate your users so much?

:-P

(Sorry, I don't know. I've never tested at zero. Seems pretty draconian.)

day retention?

I'm working with our Exchange 2010 pre-SP1 server and want the Managed Default
Folders to purge everything nightly from the Deleted Items folder. When I try
to enter zero for the "Length of retention period" it complains and says it has
to be a value between 1-24855. Is there a way to make this zero days so that
everything is purged? If not, is there a workaround?
