Bug ID: 2243 Summary: Noise in "exim -bV" stderr with +arguments log_selector Product: Exim Version: 4.90 Hardware: x86 URL: https://bugs.debian.org/890236 OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: bug Priority: medium Component: Logging Assignee: ni...@exim.org Reporter: eximus...@bebt.de CC: exim-dev@exim.org Hello, with log_selector = +arguments "exim -bV" stderr is nonempty: ------------------ root@argenau:~# exim -bP log_selector log_selector = +arguments root@argenau:~# exim -bV > /dev/null 2018-02-18 18:28:32 cwd=/root 2 args: exim -bV ------------------ This seems to have changed in the last years. On Debian oldstable with exim 4.84.2 stderr is empty. However afaict the behavior change was not necessarily triggered by changes in exim's codebase. Rebuilding and running 4.84.2 on current Debian also show the message on stderr. Anyway, although +arguments is a debugging option, -bV stderr probably should be quiet. cu Andreas -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. -- ## List details at https://lists.exim.org/mailman/listinfo/exim-dev Exim details at http://www.exim.org/ ##
