We need and use identd
You are the first user I have ever heard of. That is why it was removed; it
appeared to be a moribund feature.

To clarify: you are already running Exim in production with the post-4.99 commit
that removes identd support?
Is there any chance that the removal of identd will be reversed?
It is possible. Other reports of usage would help.
