Unfortunately yes, I have the same yearly visa but with limited stay in the country (90/180)...the only way is to apply for and get a working visa, which means you need to be employed by a Russian company. The working visa in solely linking your name to that specific company. Yesterday I read an article about that on a foreigner newspaper where Putin was explaining Russia is simply trying to align itself to the other European countries immigration rules...but what is really behind this whole thing are the taxes: if you are officially employed and resident you can pay the normal 13% flat rate taxes, if not you have to stick to the 30% rate. Before this new law on the 90/180 days, most of the expats where just relying on their business visas, but still paying lower taxes rate.

Is the only way to get "full" 365 days visa, by having working permit? Now i have just 90/180 days thing, and it is not the best for me. Br. I am now finally an employee of my company and now need to change my business visa for a working visa. I understand that this entails surrendering my passport for 21 working days! I travel internationally a great deal with my job and this restriction is simply ludicrous! Is there any way round it?
