The prices have been coming down, but you won't be able to tell it from the listings. Basically, there is a lot more supply on the market at the same price level as before, and not many takers (people who could afford to rent those apartments are getting downsized left and right)- so, once you find what you like, you can then begin to negotiate and drive the price down.

Even more surprised that someone responding from this goodwill mailing list would be expected to pay a months rent to an agent. Isn’t that a bit steep for a solicitation on this kind of publication?
