  I had this trouble too.  It didn't wait long enough for the cdrom to
spin up. if you try it one more time while the cdrom light is flashing, it
will recognize it.  The faster the processor, the worse the problem.

  I put my system in /dev/hdb2.  unfortunately, it won't execute
/etc/rcd./rc and freezes there.  I put it on another machine on /dev/hdax,
and it worked just fine.

  can someone give me a clue to make it work with /dev/hdb2?  Redhat 6.0
installed just fine there.  No luck with mandrake.
