[expert] Problem after initscripts(24) install

After installing the latest .rpm(24) with kpackage,  I was touring the
different windowmanagers, got locked up somehow and had to do a hard reboot.

Upon reboot, I got the following message:

Enter runlevel:

After entering the number x (tried 0-5), the following message appears:

Init: No more processes(?) left in Runlevel x

Then the system just hangs.

Is there a command line option that will get me past this, and then a fix?
