not working != causing problems. On my test system for odd hardware
(486SX, some old ISA IDE controller card (don't ask which chipset)), it
doesn't work, but doesn't cause problems either (SET_DMA: operation not
supported by device), so I assumed that's what they meant. Seems some
chipsets can#t handle it - it'll be made optional in 6.1.
