[expert] Problem with emacs console-mode

Hi,

I'm a recent convert from SuSE to Mandrake. I installed 6.0 the other night and
it works perfectly except for a pretty major problem with emacs in console mode.

I can start emacs from the console but when I do Ctrl-X C to quit the program I
get a "Fatal Error. (11)" in the status bar at the bottom of emacs. After that
the console is locked up and I have to login via another virtual terminal and
kill the login process.

Emacs works just fine when I use it under X. (Regular emacs not xemacs).
