Hi Jeanette,
I have a WinBool XL that I'm running Win98 and Mandrake 6.0 on. The only
changes to the laptop
1) upgrade from 4gig HD to a 6gig HD (wish it were larger)
2) upgrade to 128meg RAM (max)
3) use a Hayes Accura 56K (model no. 5684) PCMCIA modem for Linux use.
I partitioned the harddrive from scratch to be 4gig for Win98 and the
remaining 2gig is reserved for Linux (that's why the wish for a larger
harddrive). Win98 was installed first. Linux was installed so that it starts
from the boot disk. I was concerned that I would not be able to get to the
Win98 portion of the drive if Linux was installed as the Master Boot Record.
Linux-Mandrake with KDE works fine on this setup. The resolution is at 16bit
and 1024x768. Now, if I could get NetObjects and Lotus Notes (will be here
soon) in a Linux version I could replace all of my Windows needs with Linux.
Good Luck, and let us know how you make out.
Bob
