I'd use a tarball of my custom configs, and just build an rpm of it.
something like
%build
bzcat %{SOURCE} -C $RPM_ROOT_DIR
or
%install
cp -a ./ $RPM_BUILD_ROOT
with the generic.spec would be easier than kickstart, then again thats a
good demo for your LUG, compareing the pros/cons of the two :)
