Hi Patrick,   I just wanted to tell you that you were NOT stupid!!  This week I too did the update to Telnet and never knew about the loss of the Telnet Server until my router went down and I had to re-map the ports.  All of a sudden I discovered that even though my port 23 was mapped to the Linux box - it didn't work at all!   I just sent Paul a thank you message for his great post.  Got the updated Telnet Server file and am pleased to say I am back in business.   BTW:  Did you also upgrade the wu-ftpd server to 2.5?   Have a super weekend...   Ron Smith Boise, Idaho
