The booting into bash is the fastest way, but you could also do a boot into runlevel 1 thus: lilo boot: linux 1 Replace "linux 1" w/ whatever you have your linux boot image labeled as, followed by the number 1. Then when it gives you a login screen, wait a few seconds and it will go to runlevel 1 (ie you as root). -Will the Chill
