I agree, but it is not true on many distribitions for smth like news-readers. There are many and I still don't know why to use one of these instead of Netscape. If I look at text-editors, I would recommend nedit, and I never found it on any distribution. nedit is simple and easy-to-use, the best choice for beginners and Windows users. Now, I use emacs but I still recommend nedit for beginners. On the other hand, most of packages are provided with KDE and gnome and I won't recommend them at all. They are pur there only because they are part of that. Fabien Try E0.16 Definitely recommended.
