I've finally found what the problem with kdesu is. Or at least, what
the cause is: kdesu doesn't work when root uses tcsh.

Personally I grew up with tcsh and never could get used to (ba)sh, so
one of the first things I do when installing linux is to change all
shells to tcsh...
