Can you post a copy of your /etc/printcap file.
What version of ghostscript do you have?
What version of rhs-printfilters and printool?
Do you have a 'status' and 'lock' in your /var/spool/lpd , lp, lp0 lp1?
What message if any show in you messages file when you experience printer
problems
