Into The second Week Now!

Latest is if I delete all references to lp, lp0 etc in /var/spool/lpd
Delete printers in 'printtool'

Reboot

Bring up printtool

'Add Printer'

It locks up printtool

Exit printtool

start printtool

'add printer' IT WORKS, detects the printer and everything is a "go"
from there

A few hours later when trying to print

files quue up

multiple lpd 'pids' start showing up

'lpc start lp' shows "printing enabled"
lpc: connect:"Connections refused couldn't start daemon"

This has happened exactly the same three days running now.

1) Printer is configured and running
2)Machine is left on 24/7
3) From pm to am or after several hours the print session spools but
doesn't print. the /dev/lp0, /dev/lpx etc. ARE NOT DETECTED by anyone
anywhere.
4)lpd is still active by now with multiple pids

And so it goes

Guess its back to L-M 6.0 soon if this doesnt straighten out
I am getting very far behind with my Real Work on this machine.

May the Forces of Understanding the LPR GODS in L-M 6.1 be with us!
