If those different accounts you want to check are POP boxes, then I
would recommend fetchmail. This is a POP client that will allow you
to relay mail from different POPs to different local users on your
linux box. Not only that, but if you get your mail from a backup mail
server, and you're a dialup, you can use fetchmail to send an ETRN
request to the proper server to get the mail transfer going.
All-in-all, it's a win/win situation.
Then I would config sendmail to relay mail from your local windows
machines, to your ISP's mail servers. Let your ISP's mail server
deliver the mail for you.
If your machine is a dialup machine, and you use pppd to connect, you
can place all your mail commands in the script /etc/ppp/ip-up.local.
If your machine is allocated a dynamic IP, you will have to kill and
restart sendmail, so that it may bind to the new address.
