Something you may not be aware of is that MS (DOS, Windows) and Unix (Linux)
make different assumptions about the sequence of entries/chaining in partition
tables. MS requires them to be in increasing physical start cylinder order,
whereas Linux traditonally puts new partitions in sequence of
creation order. A few minutes reflection will reveal that the two
definitions cannot but cause major chaos.
I suspect Disk Druid and Linux fdisk may have been changed recently to be
compatible with DOS/Windows, and where DiskDrake stands has never been
disclosed, therefore my strict and prudent rule still remains - NEVER mix
partitioning tools on the one machine. I strictly leave ALL my partitioning
to PM5 and have had no worries.
