never messed with the kernel, just a plain old install

My first install, a week and a bit ago was from 6.1 to 7.0 where I
reformattted all the partitions.
This ran for a week then the xfs died, my second install of 7.0, I
reformatted the root "/" and "boot" /boot partitions, not my /home
partition.
This lasted from Friday to Monday, my third install...last night :-)
was the same...where I reformatted the / and boot partitions.

[d2earth@chopek .font-unix]$ ls -l
total 0
srwxrwxrwx 1 xfs xfs 0 Jan 24 22:08 fs-1=

You mean I can replace the line below...
FontPath "unix/:-1"
... with a hard coded path to one of these fonts??
1: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc:unscaled
2: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled
3: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled
4: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
5: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1
6: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo
7: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/mdk
8: /usr/share/fonts/ttf/western
9: /usr/share/fonts/default/Type1
10: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi
11: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi
12: /usr/share/fonts/ttf/decoratives
13: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic
I thought I tried that on one go...but it did not seem to work as the
xfs itself was dead...am I wrong here Axalon?
On a side note regarding the "copy_&_paste" thing from K to Netscape...
on my install last night I let it choose the mouse and went with its
default. I have a three button serial..it said in the install to use the
two button...so I did...so now I'm happy to report that I can indeed
copy from K and paste to Netscape as long as I use the two outside
buttons..I guess it is a three button mouse..acting like a two button
using three button emulation...got me..it works anyhow :-))
So as long as the xfs don't die again I will be a happy Mandrake camper.
- thanks for any input on the xfs thing -
