HOW did you install? Via RPM, or compiled or what? Did you
remember to edit your /etc/lilo.conf and re-run /sbin/lilo?
If not, do that.
To get a new kernel to come up at boot time, you must put
it in /etc/lilo.conf and run /sbin/lilo to write the
changes to the boot table.
