[expert] Dell XPS and L-M 7.0

My latest attempt to bring two converts into 
the Linux fold has met with another delay.

Dell Deminsion XPS T 500
Diamond Viper Tnt 16mg AGP
PCI probe "No" blank out and return to screen
Same with going ahead with "yes"
"error /mnt/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/ card not found"
I thought this card got recognized by L-M 7.0 ?
Are the drivers elsewhere?

"Sound Card Yamaha Corp:YMF-724F {DS-1 Audio Controller]
is not supported"
The sound card gets recognized, but then I get the above?
Subsequently sound doesnt work. Even with sndconfig.

It found the Printer fine. An HP 600c

This is a clean install on a new 20gig as /dev/hdb etc.
With NT on /dev/hda

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
