I'm not an expert, but I don't believe you can answer in v.90. 56k is
acheived because you are connecting to an isp. your modem converts
analog phone lines to digital. The isp is digital, so there's no
conversion back to analog. However, when your v.90 modem answers, it's
analog, so if someone is calling from an analog line, there's 2 digital
to analog conversions - which rules out v.90. Unless of course you're
connected to a digital line - isdn, T1, etc.
Bottom line - 56k only works when connecting to someone like an isp who
has a digital line.
Of course, if you have a digital line, and you're just trying to get it
to answer in v.90, sorry.
