I was on a small LAN when trying to set up my ISP connection. The Linux install made some incorrect assumptions and put in some wrong gateway information. Use net.cfg to look at what your default gateway is. It should either be blank, or have IP address given you for that purpose by your ISP. Most likely it should be blank. I think the default gateway device should also be blank. It should NOT be something like eth0. Colin
