Hi!
First of all, make a link from your serial port (where is connected
the palm) to /dev/pilot. (if i can remember well, cua0 is COM1 in dos,
cua1 is COM2, etc)

I had troubles using kpilot too. (I'm running mdk6.1) It didn't
recognized the /dev/pilot althought i linked it to my /dev/cua1. All the
troubles were fixed when i downloaded (and compiled) jpilot. (from
linux.tucows.com) it's great, and similar to the supplied version for
windoze.

first of all (i suggest) try using pilot-link packages. It always
detected my palm (as all command line progs do), even when kpilot didn't
work (pilot-link comes with mdk).

I hope it will be useful for you

                     Claudio
