Yes, but no modprobe to put ide-scsi into the kernel in /etc/conf.modules. This may
be a
feature, cause ide-scsi tends to hide ls120s and sometimes normal CDs, so if supermount
isn't activated they may leave it as an exercise for the student to modprobe the module
in when needed to burn and otherwise just use the drive as an ordinary CD (where
ide-scsi
is unnecessary). And if someone wants to burn, the module loading redesignates the
drive
so it isn't cdrom and it is instead the (unmounted) /dev/sr0 which can proceed to burn.

For supermount, there appears to be some dodgeware loaded into /etc/conf.modules as
well
to allow burning without un(super)mounting. /dev/sr0 (burner) is present and /dev/scd0
(reader) is linked to /dev/cdrom.

So it comes to a newbie-type issue. This is ok as is for experts, but what about the
newbies who want to burn?--ans: Use supermount.
