You won't believe this one!!!!!!!!

I have successfully gotten my cdrom working!!!!!!!!!!

I discovered the fix quite by accident....in experimenting with drives and
configurations I switched the cdrom to slave (it had been a master) and it read
it....well I had other things so balled up from playing I decided to re-install
so I could have a nice clean freshly installed Mandrake 7.1 install to mess up
all over again...and lo and behold the cdrom wasn't working....hmmmm....now what
to do....I messed it up...I'll never get it back!!!!!!!!!! well I switched the
cdrw back to being a master...just because I like things in order....and
rebooted figuring I would mess with this again later.....I decided to check the
cd again just for sh**s and grins....and it worked again...it did uninstall and
reconfigure the drive both times....but now if I set it back to slave it will
not work again....put it as a master and it's fine......so my dear
friend...there is the bug and the fix!!!!!!!!!!

YES....IT WORKS I/WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHEERS....HURRAY!!!!! THE CROWD GOES WILD...LOL

Sincerely thanks for all your help...who would have thunk something so goofy
would fix it? I know it sure surprised me....btw...the floppy fixed itself in
the same operation...so until something else goes wrong....IT'S ALL WORKING!!!!!
