I just upgraded to LM7.1 on my intel box. The video card is an Voodoo 3 3000
AGP and the monitor is an old NEC 5Fg. I'm running KDE.
If the system sits idle for 5 minutes or so the screen starts to roll
vertically
and its bowed (bulges at the middle). It looks like one of those old TV's
when they lose vertical lock.
The screensaver is disabled in the KDE control panel & I also used 'xset s
off'
so there should be no screensaver at all running. Power management in BIOS
is also disabled. So it's not just the worlds ugliest screensaver.
This is wierd & probably not good for the monitor. It happens with both
XFree
3.3 & 4.0. I have never seen it before I upgraded to LM7.1.
Any ideas?
Thanx,
Art.
