Here's a suggestion: Make your Fat32 partitions with PM. Then leave
the rest of the drive unpartitioned and partition it with the
installer. It's MUCH better to let the installer partition it,
because of the quirks of the EXT2 FS. Also, if you INSIST on using
PM, at least get all the updates!
