for modem, just start "kppp" and try changing the device from /dev/modem to
any of the COM ports.. /dev/ttyS? where ? is from 0 to 3 indicating COM1 to
COM4.
for sound, check what sound card they have.. see if its in the h/w support
list of mandrake, and if not, then check if its listed at
alsa-project.org.. you can download and compile drivers from there and they
most certainly work.
Run sndconf to first try and configure u're sound card.. I think there is
somethign under DrakConf too... check it out first.
