Basically you need to set up a LAN between the machines, then set the linux
box up to do whatever routing is necessary. If you have only 1 IP number,
you will need to do something like IP Masquerading to allow both machines to
use the net at once. It's a really good idea to set up a firewall,
especially if you have a full-time connection to the net like DSL or cable.
If you only have 2 machines, you probably don't need to run a DNS...simply
editing the hosts files to contain the names/IP of the 2 machines will do
the trick.

Subject: [expert] DNS and Gateways

Hello everyone,

I've got a small home network (2 machines). I want to set my linux box up
to be a gateway, how do I do this? I didn't do the "Server" installation.
If I were to do that, would that let me set up things such as DNS servers
and Gateways? I just want my DNS and Gateway to be 192.168.1.1. Sorry for
the easy question on an expert list. :)

Best Regards,
Tyler Longren
