Apparently XFree86-4.x still has bugs in it. When I first installed Mandrake I tried this version of XFree, and found it to be more than a bit strange so I installed and began using the older version. I think it's 3.3.x or something like that. At any rate the older version is stable and the system runs fine. I've also noticed on the list that folks are having quite a bit of trouble with XFree 4.0 which also leads me to believe that this one just isn't ready for prme time. Switch back to the other. I think you will find it more to your liking. -- Mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** =/\= No Penguins were harmed | ICQ#27816299 ** <_||_> in the making of this | ** =\/= message... | Registered Linux user #182496 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Mon, 18 Sep 2000, tommiy wrote: > Just racking up the stats for what appears to be another mandrake config > problem. > > I have just reinstalled 7.1 from scratch and I get the same error ;( > > RH is looking better all the time! > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > > Hello. > > > > I tryed to compile the XFree86 4.0.1 SRPM from cooker but as soon as the > > "build" phase starts, I get the error: "FG: no job control". > > > > This also happens with many other SRPMS.
