Anybody ever got gnome photo to work? I thought I did...My HP C200 digicam shows an hourglass on the display when it actually connects...first time I used it...I got one pic dl'd and then flooded with windows...two for each failed download. It claimed my camera was not connected. It runs through com1(ttyS0). So I go and delete .gphoto from my /root dir...it gives me a "need to reconfig" dialog on the next run and then locks up...I tried it with and without the cam connected...so I thought maybe I just had an older or corrput RPM...so I uninstall and replace it with a fresh one from tux.org's mandrake dir. It locked up everytime I tried to save the config...delete .gphoto again...it gets past that the next run. THis time it won't download anything, but shows the index no's of the pics and goes crazy with the error messages again. SO, I go after the source code...go the usual route..../configure... can't locate my imlib...tells me it needs to be in my PREFIX/bin path...can't locate that in the config file? Does this program actually work? Or is it another one of those things added to Mandrake for someone to "appreciate" the architecture. I have had so many probs with this past install of mandrake...guess what...I'm going to re-install yet again...maybe redhat this time. At least it seems to know which end is its head and which are its feet.
