Hi list,
I've been trying desperately to get an HP Colorado T4000s SCSI tape drive
to work with Mandrake for months and just can't get it going. When I
attempt to mount a tape using Kdat I get the 'ole message "no tape in
device." The system knows the drive is there; Mandrakes "new
hardware" detector found the device on boot and configured it...so whats
the problem. As my machine boots I can hear the tape whirring and if I
stick a different tape in the drive it will begin to whir again. So at
least I know for certain that the drive motors work and it can sense when
theres a tape in it.
So, how does one begin to set these up and get them working?
