The thinkpad apm implementation is dodgy. There are kernel issues for
it - it does something funny with the interrupts on suspend/resume. Never
owned a thinkpad, BTW, just deleted the flak :) Get in with a rescue disk and
disable apm altogether. Then build a kernel. Before you do, find out what I
don't know about it ;-)
