Hello, I have the same problem, and someone posted a response that informed me that KDE 2.0 is broken on this, and should be fixed in a patch or a new release soon. So, many of us have put this problem on the back burner. I have tried to fix this myself, but only end up having to re-install after severely hosing up KDE.
