A run of kudzu normally should be able to do most things right:

If the drive is on the secondary cable and is a slave it should be hdd
here instead of hdc

No, you only need to run this if you need to use the writer before
rebooting  (since the omdules.conf entry will cause the kernel to do it
automatically)
